Overview

Boingo Private 5G Networks is Boingo Wireless's private cellular offering for venues such as airports, transit hubs, stadiums, hospitals, convention centers and military bases.[1] Boingo says the networks carry IoT, voice and data traffic, are isolated from public network traffic, can run alongside a site's existing Wi-Fi and public cellular networks, and give the customer control over coverage, access and bandwidth.[2] Boingo says it installed the Department of War's first Open RAN private 5G network at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, connecting aviation hangars, warehouses and flight-line operations.[3] In February 2026 Boingo said it would integrate Globalstar's XCOM RAN platform into its private network infrastructure after a trial.[1]
