Recent changes

Market moves that change who you can buy from.

  1. Kajeet's installation business moved to Heddian

Heddian now supports existing Kajeet private wireless customers; Kajeet kept its Sentinel management platform.

  2. Cox Private Networks is now Spectrum Private Networks

The new name follows Charter's announcement that it had completed its transaction with Cox Communications.

  3. Nokia expects to sell its campus private wireless business

Nokia classified its Enterprise Campus Edge business as discontinued operations because it considers a sale highly probable. Its CEO said in November 2025 that Nokia will keep serving mission-critical networks such as utilities and rail.

  4. Google's SAS stopped taking new customers

Existing users must move their radios to another FCC-authorized SAS before Google shuts the service down on June 10, 2027.

6 earlier changes
  1. Foreign-made consumer routers added to the FCC Covered List

The FCC added routers produced outside the U.S. to the Covered List, except models granted a Conditional Approval. Its FAQ says this covers consumer-grade routers for homes, including home LTE/5G equipment, but not industrial, enterprise or military equipment, and that models authorized earlier can still be imported, sold and used.

  2. Microsoft retired Azure Private 5G Core

Microsoft pointed customers to partner solutions such as Nokia and Ericsson in the Azure Marketplace.

  3. Mavenir stopped making its own radio units

Mavenir said it would stop building its own Open RAN radio units and license its radio software to hardware makers.

  4. AWS retired AWS Private 5G

AWS still offers Integrated Private Wireless on AWS, which works through telecom partners.

  5. CommScope stopped running its SAS

CommScope kept its certification, which the FCC renewed in February 2025 under the ANDREW name after Amphenol bought the business.

  6. Huawei and ZTE equipment added to the FCC Covered List

Telecommunications equipment produced by Huawei and ZTE has been on the list since March 12, 2021 (current list dated September 18, 2026). Covered equipment cannot receive new FCC equipment authorizations.

All vendor types

Radio vendors for private 5G and LTE

The radios that send and receive the wireless signal, also called small cells or base stations (together, the radio access network or RAN). They mount on walls, ceilings or poles, much like Wi-Fi access points, and transmit on CBRS or licensed spectrum.

4 companiesListed A to Z, not rankedUpdated

When you need this

Every private network needs radios. They work with a core network, and on CBRS each radio must also register with a Spectrum Access System, directly or through a domain proxy.

Core network software vendors

11 companiesListed A to Z, not rankedUpdated

When you need this

Every network needs a core. Buy one on its own when you want to choose your radios separately, since many cores work with radios from other vendors. Complete systems include one.
