Baicells is a privately funded maker of 4G LTE and 5G NR base stations and customer premises equipment (CPE), founded in 2014, that also runs a CloudCore management service hosted on U.S.-based Microsoft Azure servers.[1] Its CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) radios, such as the indoor Neutrino430 (Band 48) and the Aurora243 5G radio (FCC-certified n48 model), have been used in U.S. private LTE networks for school districts and live events.[2][3][4][5] The company faces U.S. government scrutiny: the Defense Department added it to its list of Chinese military companies in January 2025, and Light Reading reported Commerce Department subpoenas; Baicells disputes the designation and said in July 2026 that its North American business remains fully operational.[6][7]
Indoor and outdoor LTE TDD eNodeBs such as the Neutrino430 (4x250 mW, Band 48) and Nova436Q (4x1 W, Bands 42/48), plus outdoor Band 48 models sold by Waveform (Private5G.com is operated by the team behind Waveform and RSRF), such as the Nova430i, Nova430e and Nova246.[2][10][13][14][15]
Including the Aurora243 for bands n41, n48, n77, n78 and n79, the Aurora454 and the Stellar227.[3][9]
Carrier-grade customer premises equipment that connects homes, sites and devices to Baicells networks.[9][1]
Baicells' cloud core and management service, which the company says is hosted on Microsoft Azure servers in the U.S.[1]
Baicells says the districts tested its equipment with UETN in 2019 and used private LTE from rooftop sites to pre-configured home CPE to extend internet access to students.[4]
Baicells and Hoyos Consulting used two Nova436Q units to connect point-of-sale terminals at 23 beverage tents around Capitol Square, and Baicells reports zero downtime during the event.[5]
Baicells says it and Pente Networks delivered a portable CBRS private LTE network, using Nova430i radios and the Pente core, for TV broadcasters at the convention.[8]
Baicells' CEO and chairman wrote that Baicells North America remains fully operational and that North America remains a strategic priority, with continued support for existing deployments.[7]
The U.S. Department of Defense added Baicells to its list of Chinese military companies, and Light Reading reported Commerce Department subpoenas and FBI interest; Baicells disputes the designation.[6]
