Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) sells private LTE and 5G networks under the HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G name, built on mobile core software from Athonet, a core vendor based in Vicenza, Italy, that HPE agreed to buy in February 2023 and took over on June 15, 2023.[1][2] The turnkey system combines HPE indoor and outdoor small cells, a 4G/5G core preloaded on an HPE ProLiant server, SIMs and eSIMs and a cloud dashboard, and HPE also sells the core by itself for use with any 3GPP-standard radio.[3][4] In the U.S. the turnkey radios use CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) spectrum through an integrated Federated Wireless SAS (Spectrum Access System), and HPE supplied the core for the private 5G network at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia.[4][5]
HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G is a turnkey private cellular system with indoor and outdoor small cells, a 4G/5G core on an HPE server appliance, SIMs and eSIMs and a cloud-based dashboard, which HPE launched in June 2024 as HPE Aruba Networking Enterprise Private 5G.[3][9]
HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G Core is a single software product that provides a 4G EPC (Evolved Packet Core) and a 5G core, delivered as software only or preinstalled on HPE hardware and usable with any 3GPP-standard radio.[7][3]
