Overview

Highway 9 Networks is a Santa Clara, California, startup, founded by former VMware networking and telco-cloud leaders, that sells private cellular networks as a cloud service.[1][2][3] Its Highway 9 Mobile Cloud pairs cloud-hosted core network functions and management (Mobile Center) with a Mobile Edge packet core that runs on premises as a virtual machine or appliance, or in a public cloud, and works with third-party radios or Highway 9's own 5G access points.[4][5][6] Highway 9 also uses the platform to build neutral-host networks that extend mobile operators' coverage indoors and outdoors, and now markets it as AI wireless infrastructure.[7][8] Named U.S. customers include MIT and Brown University.[1][9]
