Hughes Network Systems, an EchoStar company headquartered in Germantown, Maryland, provides satellite broadband, including Hughesnet, and managed network services for enterprises and governments.[1][2][3] For private networks it sells a fully managed private 4G/5G wireless service for enterprise sites, built on Celona equipment and CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) spectrum, including Priority Access Licenses (PALs).[4] For the Department of Defense (DoD), Hughes is prime contractor and integrator for standalone 5G networks built to Open RAN (O-RAN) standards at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii.[5]
