Overview

HyperCore is Pente Networks' mobile core and orchestration platform: one converged core for 2G, 3G, LTE and 5G standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA), run as a cloud-native SaaS service (HyperCore Cloud) with optional on-site cores (HyperCore Survivable Edge).[1][2][3] Pente says its edge devices turn into a standalone on-premises core when the cloud connection is lost, so local traffic and device authentication continue.[4] It documents three edge options, the EdgeMini mini PC, the EdgeMax 1U server and the virtual Cloud Edge, and sells the platform to enterprises as well as to mobile operators and MVNOs.[5][2]

Specifications

Architecture

Core generations
2G/3G, LTE and 5G SA/NSA in one converged core, with interworking between generations.[1]
Network functions
MME/AMF (mobility management), SGW/SMF (session management), PGW/UPF (user plane), HSS/UDM/HLR (subscriber data), SMSC/SMSF (SMS) and PCRF/PCF (policy), plus legacy 2G/3G elements.[1]
Cloud architecture
Microservices and Kubernetes-native deployment, multi-cloud and on-premises support, and high availability across zones or regions.[1]
Multi-tenancy
HyperCore Cloud is multi-tenant, isolating tenants on shared infrastructure.[6]
Radio compatibility
RAN-agnostic; Pente says the EdgeMini is preconfigured to communicate automatically with any RAN.[7]

Deployment options

HyperCore Cloud
Cloud-hosted core and orchestration managed through the HyperCore Control Center portal.[6][2]
EdgeMini
Mini PC appliance (model HCC-MINI-GPC) or a fanless ruggedized version (HCC-MINI-GPC-R), pre-integrated with HyperCore Cloud.[8]
EdgeMax
1U rackmount server (HCC-MAX-GPC) with an Intel Xeon Silver 4316 processor, 64 GB RAM, 1 TB NVMe storage and redundant power supplies, for standard data center conditions.[9]
Cloud Edge
The EPC and 5GC as a virtual instance on x86 bare metal, VMware, KVM, Proxmox, AWS, Azure or GCP, managed from HyperCore Cloud.[10]
AWS program
Pente said in September 2024 that HyperCore Cloud was validated on AWS Regions, AWS Local Zones and AWS Outposts servers and offered through Amdocs in the Integrated Private Wireless on AWS program.[11]

Capacity (as stated by Pente)

EdgeMini
Up to 2.5 Gbps of user-plane traffic, 500 concurrent active users and 25 concurrent eNodeB/gNodeB radios.[8][7]
EdgeMax
Up to 10 Gbps of user-plane traffic and 20,000 concurrent active users.[9]
Cloud Edge
No figure published; Pente says it scales from single users to millions of devices.[10]
Platform scale
Pente's site says the platform manages more than 5 million SIMs.[2]

Survivability

Cloud outage behavior
Edge devices keep local authentication, policy enforcement and traffic routing running as a standalone core, then re-sync with the cloud.[4]
Local data retention
The EdgeMini keeps a 30-day data backup in survivable mode.[8]

Features and interfaces

APIs
More than 1,000 RESTful APIs, according to Pente.[6]
Core services
Policy and charging control, subscriber management, network slicing and QoS management.[6]
Security
Zero-trust architecture, a virtual firewall, IMEI lock and IMSI-catcher detection.[1] Network World reported in March 2025 that Palo Alto Networks tied its firewalls to HyperCore for visibility into subscribers and devices.[12]
Roaming
Global roaming, IMSI donation, local data breakout, eUICC remote profile switching and roaming between public and private networks.[1]

Management

Portal
The HyperCore Control Center handles orchestration, SIM and eSIM provisioning, real-time analytics and remote upgrades of edge devices.[2][7]
Provisioning
Zero-touch provisioning, automated scaling, configuration management and performance monitoring are listed.[6]

Licensing

Model
Pente describes HyperCore as SaaS-based; prices and license terms are not published.[2]
