Overview

Celona says an unnamed global food manufacturer used Celona private 5G to connect about 19 outdoor perimeter-security and machine-vision cameras across a 7.3-million-square-foot, multi-building production site whose location Celona lists as confidential.[1] Per the case study, the manufacturer's operational technology (OT) team wanted to add machine vision for perimeter security plus sensors, and the cameras on fence lines, gates and process areas had to be reachable from the enterprise network without trenching fiber to every mount.[1] Eight Celona AP25 access points, mounted alongside the cameras on existing gantries, poles and conveyor steel, cover the site.[1] This is a vendor case study with no publication date, and we found no independent coverage of it.

Not publicly stated; the case study page shows no date.[1]
Spectrum
Celona lists CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service); GAA or PAL is not stated.[1]
Technology
Private 5G on Celona's Orion platform, with Celona MicroSlicing giving each camera stream its own guaranteed class of service and an edgeless AerFlex design with no on-site edge appliance.[1]
Scale as reported
A 7.3-million-square-foot campus of buildings, yards, a rail spur and process infrastructure; eight AP25 access points; about 19 outdoor thermal and PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras.[1]
Vendors and roles
Celona supplied the access points, MicroSlicing and Orchestrator management. Camera makers are not named.[1]

How the network is used

  • Outdoor perimeter-security and machine-vision cameras, thermal and PTZ, watching fence lines, gates and process areas and feeding AI vision models for safety and compliance (video surveillance).[1]
  • Condition-monitoring sensors and connected-worker tablets (manufacturing and industrial IoT). The case study says in one passage that these ride the outdoor private 5G layer and in another that tablets and indoor sensors use Wi-Fi on the same Celona platform.[1]

Reported results

As reported by the sources below; not independently verified.

  • Celona says a measured signal survey before installation mapped every planned camera position, and that every camera and thermal-sensor position landed in usable range in production.[1]
  • Celona reports latency under 30 ms per stream, about 6–8 Mbps per single-stream camera and 17–18 Mbps for quad-stream units.[1]
  • Celona says covering the site with eight access points cost more than 50% less than trenching fiber to the outdoor cameras, and cites a benchmark that fiber to one outdoor camera on a comparable site cost about 20 times the camera itself.[1]

How to interpret this record

This record keeps the source's anonymous customer label and reported status. A case study does not establish current operation, reproducible performance, or independent verification.
