Overview

Ataya Chorus is a cloud-managed private 5G system from Ataya that bundles 5G radio access, core network, network and policy management, device onboarding, SIM cards and monitoring.[1] Its 5G control plane, including the AMF (access and mobility management function) and SMF (session management function), runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), while each indoor or outdoor access point contains the 5G radio and an embedded UPF (user plane function), so user traffic is processed on site.[2] Ataya aims Chorus at smaller sites of one to ten access points and at managed service providers that run many customers from a multi-tenant dashboard; for on-premises control, Ataya offers Ataya Harmony instead.[3][4][5]

Specifications

Architecture

Control plane
5G control-plane and management functions run on Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) clusters, with control traffic carried over gRPC.[2]
User plane
UPF embedded in each access point; traffic between the radio and the UPF stays at the site, control signaling and session management go to AWS, and internet-bound traffic leaves through the site's backhaul.[2]
Standards
Ataya describes Chorus as 3GPP Release 16 capable with RedCap (reduced capability) device support.[2]
O-RAN radios
Since February 2025 Chorus also supports O-RAN (open radio access network) radio systems, using the cloud-managed core with a UPF co-located at each site.[4]
Tenancy
Multi-tenant; Ataya says each tenant gets an isolated 5G core instance with its own configuration, subscribers and policy.[2]

Radio

Bands
n48 (CBRS, Citizens Broadband Radio Service), n77, n78 and n79, per Ataya.[2] The n79 band was added with Pegatron-manufactured access points announced in February 2026.[6]
Access points
Indoor and outdoor access points.[1] Ataya worked with MosoLabs on Chorus access points from 2024 and with Pegatron from 2026; RCR Wireless News reported that Moso Networks sells a version branded Moso Canopy Chorus Edition.[7][6][8]
Radio specifications
Not publicly stated on Ataya's product pages; they depend on the access point model.

Deployment options

Scale
Ataya lists 1 to 10 access points per deployment and one to many radios per site.[3][1]
Onboarding
Zero-touch: a new access point discovers the Chorus cloud, downloads its configuration and registers with the 5G core.[2]
On-site equipment
Ataya says Chorus needs only a small cell and SIM cards at the customer site, with no separate servers or switches.[4][9]
Backhaul
Ataya has published a design using LEO (low Earth orbit) satellite backhaul, in which control traffic and internet-bound user traffic cross the satellite link with about 50 to 70 ms round-trip latency.[2]

Management

Console
Cloud management with centralized policy control, monitoring and key performance indicators (KPIs), and a multi-tenant dashboard for service providers to provision and administer customers.[1][4]
Edge AI add-on
Ataya Edge, described in February 2026, can run under Chorus to add AI workload orchestration and zero-trust security at the site.[5]

Availability

Markets
Ataya announced availability in the U.S., Europe, Japan and other Asian markets in February 2025.[4]
Commercial availability
RCR Wireless News reported in August 2025 that Ataya said Chorus had been commercially available since May 2025.[8]
