Overview

Comcast Business and Nokia announced on January 19, 2022 that their first showcase private wireless deployment would launch at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia during the first quarter of 2022, using Nokia's Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) platform.[1] Comcast Business's Bob Victor told Light Reading it would be the company's first large-scale private wireless deployment after a few trials, and Light Reading noted that the arena, home of the Flyers and 76ers, is owned by Comcast.[2] In an October 2022 post on the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) website, Comcast said it had built the network on CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) Priority Access License (PAL) and General Authorized Access (GAA) spectrum, and that the Flyers were using it to send HD video from cameras and phones around the arena to the center-hung scoreboard.[3] Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment announced in May 2025 that the arena would be renamed Xfinity Mobile Arena.[4]
