Overview

The Celona AP 20 is an indoor access point for CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) that can be set to run either as an LTE (4G) cell on Band 48 or as a 5G NR cell on band n48, aimed at warehouses, plants, hospitals, retail stores and offices.[1] It belongs to Celona's Orion platform: the AP is provisioned and managed from Celona's cloud orchestrator, with core functions supplied by Celona Edge or, with the optional AerFlex service, from the cloud with data broken out locally at the AP.[1][2] Celona sells the AP 20 inside a per-access-point subscription rather than as standalone hardware.[1]

Specifications

Radio

Technology
Multimode: LTE TDD (3GPP Release 13) or 5G NR TDD (3GPP Release 15); each AP is configured for one mode, and Celona says 4G and 5G devices can run side by side on the same network[1]
Bands
LTE Band 48 and 5G NR n48, 3.55–3.7 GHz CBRS[1][2]
Channel bandwidth
20 or 40 MHz per Celona's datasheet[1]; the FCC grant describes 10 and 20 MHz LTE modes and 20 and 40 MHz NR modes[3]
MIMO and modulation
2x2 MIMO on uplink and downlink; up to 256-QAM in 5G mode and up to 64-QAM with carrier aggregation in LTE mode[1]
Transmit power
Up to 24 dBm per antenna port into a built-in omni antenna of up to 6 dBi gain[1]; the highest EIRP listed in the FCC grant is about 1.87 W[3]
Throughput
Up to 1 Gbps aggregate, according to Celona[1]
Connected devices
96 active devices in LTE mode or 128 active devices in 5G mode[1]
Latency
Under 10 ms one way from device to Celona Edge, according to Celona[1]
Neutral host
Celona's AP selection guide marks the AP 20 as its indoor pick for neutral-host (multi-operator) coverage[2]

Interfaces and timing

Ethernet
One RJ-45 port at 1 or 2.5 Gbps[1]
Antenna
Built-in omnidirectional antenna; Celona's selection guide does not list an external-antenna option for this model[1][2]
Timing
Integrated PTP grandmaster and IEEE 1588v2 PTP; an external GPS antenna is optional[1]

Power

Power input
IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 PoE++; an AC-to-PoE injector ships with the AP[1]
Power consumption
71 W maximum[1]

Physical and environmental

Dimensions
250 x 300 x 85 mm (9.8 x 11.8 x 3.34 in), width x depth x height[1]
Weight
4.45 kg (9.8 lb)[1]
Ingress protection
IP52 dust-protected indoor enclosure; not rated for hazardous locations[1]
Operating temperature
0 °C to 45 °C; storage -10 °C to 50 °C; 5–95% humidity, non-condensing[1]
Mounting
Wall or ceiling, plus T-bar kits for Prelude, Suprafine, Interlude and Silhouette ceiling grids[1]
MTBF
More than 70,000 hours[1]

Certifications

FCC ID
2AWNP-AP20-48 (model AP20-48), granted September 6, 2023[4][3]
CBSD category
Celona's datasheet lists FCC Category A/B; the FCC grant notes say the AP operates as a Category A CBSD and is limited to professional installation[1][3]
OnGo certification
Celona's datasheet lists OnGo Alliance certification for the AP20-48[1]; the OnGo Alliance's public certified-device list, checked October 1, 2026, has no entry named AP 20 and shows earlier Celona indoor and outdoor CBRS APs certified in 2021[5]

Management and core

Management
Zero-touch provisioning and cloud management through Celona's orchestrator; certificate-based mutual authentication between AP and cloud[1]
SAS integration
Celona Edge registers the AP with an FCC-approved Spectrum Access System (SAS) and sets its radio parameters automatically[6]
Core network
Core services come from Celona Edge software, or from the AerFlex add-on, which runs the control plane in Celona's cloud and keeps the data plane at the AP[1]; support for third-party cores is not publicly stated
QoS
Celona's MicroSlicing enforces quality of service per application flow using 5G QoS identifiers[1]
Warranty
Limited lifetime warranty while a Celona subscription is active[1]

What’s included

  • AP 20 indoor access point[1]
  • AC-to-PoE injector[1]
  • Wall and ceiling mount[1]
  • T-bar mount kit for Prelude, Suprafine, Interlude and Silhouette grids[1]

Public pricing

  • No public list price. Celona includes the AP 20 in a per-access-point subscription offered in 3- and 5-year terms (4G or 5G), covering management, SIM provisioning, core services via Celona Edge and Celona's orchestrator, support, a limited lifetime warranty and 20 SIM cards, per the datasheet last updated August 11, 2026.[1][7]
  • Waveform, operated by the team behind Private5G.com, lists the AP 20 as contact-to-purchase with no posted price because the manufacturer does not allow online sales (checked October 1, 2026).[8]
