Overview

The Celona AP 25 is a ruggedized 5G NR access point for CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) band n48, rated IP66 and certified for Class I Division 2 hazardous locations, which Celona aims at refineries, ports, manufacturing yards and large campuses.[1] It integrates the radio with Celona's software stack, connects directly to an IT network, uses external antennas, and is FCC-authorized as a Category B CBSD (Citizens Broadband Radio Service Device).[1][2] Like Celona's other radios, it is sold inside a per-access-point subscription.[1]

Specifications

Radio

Technology
5G NR TDD, 3GPP Release 15[1]; the FCC grant notes describe 5G NR standalone operation with QPSK, 64-QAM and 256-QAM[2]
Bands
n48, 3.55–3.7 GHz[1]; Celona's AP selection guide shows n79 for the AP 25 with a "Q3 '26" note, as of October 1, 2026[3]
Channel bandwidth
20 or 40 MHz per Celona's datasheet[1]; the FCC grant lists 20, 30 and 40 MHz, and a permissive change granted January 19, 2026 enabled 10 MHz in software[2]
MIMO and modulation
2x2 MIMO on uplink and downlink, up to 256-QAM[1]
Transmit power
Up to 37 dBm conducted per RF port[1]; the highest EIRP listed in the FCC grant is about 123 W, for 40 MHz channels[2]. Celona's installation guide says total EIRP is set automatically by Celona software within FCC Part 96 limits[4]
Connected devices
128 active devices[1]
Latency
Under 10 ms one way from device to Celona Edge, according to Celona[1]

Interfaces and timing

Network interfaces
One SFP+ optical port and one 1 GbE RJ-45 port[1]
Antenna
Two N-type connectors for external antennas; antennas are bought separately (Celona offers omni and 33°, 65°, 90° and 120° sector kits)[1]
Timing
GPS, with the GPS antenna included[1]

Power

Power input
-48 V DC; an AC adapter and surge protector are included[1]. The installation guide gives the input range as -42 V to -60 V DC[4]
Power consumption
100 W maximum[1]
Lightning protection
±10 kA differential and ±20 kA common mode on the power interface; surge protection included[1]

Physical and environmental

Dimensions
321 x 231 x 135 mm (12.64 x 9.09 x 5.31 in), width x depth x height[1]
Weight
8.5 kg (18.7 lb)[1]
Ingress protection
IP66[1]
Hazardous locations
CSA Class I Division 2[1]
Operating temperature
-40 °C to 55 °C; storage -40 °C to 70 °C[1]
Mounting
Pole or wall[1]; the installation guide specifies poles of 90–200 mm (3.5–8.3 in) diameter and a mounting height of at least 120 cm (47 in)[4]
MTBF
More than 150,000 hours[1]

Certifications

FCC ID
2AWNP-AP25-48 (model AP25-48). FCC records show the ID was created on July 30, 2025 as a change in identification from FCC ID H8NSCU2080, followed by a permissive change granted January 19, 2026[2][5]
CBSD category
Category B per the FCC grant notes[2]; Celona's ordering information describes the unit as a 5G Category B n48 access point, while its compliance table lists FCC Cat A/B[1]
OnGo certification
Not claimed in Celona's AP 25 datasheet[1], and no entry named AP 25 appears on the OnGo Alliance certified-device list checked October 1, 2026[6]

Management and core

Deployment architectures
Celona Edge, Virtualized Edge or AerFlex (AP-only, with the control plane in Celona's cloud)[1][3]
Management
Zero-touch provisioning through Celona's platform and orchestrator[1]
Warranty
Limited lifetime warranty while a Celona subscription is active[1]
Not publicly stated
Third-party core support

What’s included
